Funny Story
12/27/2005

Hello Everyone!

I had quite a funny experience happen to me last week, so I thought I would share it with all of you.  Maybe you'll find it as funny as I did.  Last Thursday Bob (owner of 1 Up Motorsports) and I went down to the Kinney Drugs in Canandaigua to buy the new Barefoot Bob Autobiography as a Christmas present to his father.  Before I go any further, I would just like to add that the Barefoot Bob book is an excellent read and I would highly recommend it to anyone that has been around DIRT racing.  Anyway, so Bob and I are in Kinney Drugs buying the book.  He asks the clerk if she has ever met Barefoot Bob before.  She says "Oh yeah, I've known Barefoot for years.  I go to Canandaigua Speedway all the time."  While this is going on, I'm just kind of standing there looking at the magazines.  Bob then points to me while he asks the clerk, "Oh you must know Chad Homan then?"  She looked right at me, then back at Bob, and very seriously says "No, I've never heard of him."  At first I thought she was joking until we eventually had to tell her that I also race at Canandaigua Speedway.  She really had no clue.  Both Bob and I left Kinney Drugs laughing about the whole thing.  I guess that I'm just going to have to step it up because 22 wins at Canandaigua Speedway isn't enough for a Canandaigua "regular" to know who I am! :)  Take care for now!

Parts Peddler
11/20/2005

Hello Everyone!

First off I would like to congratulate Doug and Kathi Stange on their wedding, which took place on Saturday. I am very happy that they have found happiness together and I can't thank them enough for all of their help over the past few years.

On Sunday, Dad and I went to the Parts Peddler show in Syracuse. I was able to talk to a lot of people from the racing community and it was a lot of fun catching up with some people that we don't get to see that often. From what I gathered, a lot of people are in a holding pattern to see what DIRT is going to do regarding next season. I guess we are in the same position, waiting to see if the Pro Stock class will be back at Canandaigua. Hopefully, all of the missing pieces will fall into place in a timely fashion and everyone can start getting their programs together for 2006.

As for the show itself, I have to admit that it was a lot of the same. We did find a few little things that we needed and picked them up while we were there. The thing with that show is that a lot of the "cool" stuff is tailored for teams with much bigger budgets than ours. However, it's always fun to look.

The start of the holidays is quickly approaching us this week, so I would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving! Take care for now!

Rumors
11/19/2005

Hello Everyone!

It has come to my attention that the rumors are swirling around about my 2006 plans.  As I mentioned before, we have partnered with 1 Up Motorsports for the 2006 season.  This will indeed create some unique opportunities for myself during next season and beyond.  At this point, I am able to tell all of you that we are indeed committed to running one more full season with the Pro Stock at Canandaigua Speedway.  Granted, this fully depends on whether or not there is actually a Pro Stock class at Canandaigua Speedway in 2006.  I certainly hope that there is, so I can make one last run at the championship that has eluded us for the past 4 years.  In addition, I am currently working on some "extra-curricular" activities for 2006 with the help of 1 Up Motorsports, and I look forward to making an announcement regarding those plans in the near future.  Take care for now!

1 Up Motorsports
11/14/2005

Hello everyone!

Today I'm pleased to announce that a partnership has been formed between Homan Motorsports and 1 Up Motorsports, owned by local businessman Robert Dreste.  Bob has been around DIRT racing his entire life and I am very pleased to partner with him for the 2006 season and beyond.  This new found partnership certainly creates several unique opportunities for myself which should make for a very exciting off-season and 2006 racing season.  I'll post more details when they become available.  Take care for now!
